Weeks 1 & 2 of home learning in January 2021

A frantic start to our home learning but we have started to get to grips with it. 

In English, we have been exploring the story of "The Day the Crayons Quit" and learning how to write a persuasive letter like the characters of the story. We created our own characters and explored how would they feel as well as learning about the features in a persuasive letter such as rhetorical questions and opinion sentences. 

Our maths lessons have been focused on "time" and exploring how to tell the time, the difference between analogue and digital time and solving problems around this. 

We have also explored the Liturgical calendar in RE and our local communities in PSHE. Our topic has been about "Mountains, volcanoes and Earthquakes". So far we have explored the layers of the Earth, how mountains are formed and the different types of volcano.
