What platforms are we using for remote/home learning?

Like all of us, St Peter's has had to adapt to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. This means that, at times, learning has to take place remotely.

At these times, we have been using a number of platforms to help children continue their learning and makes as much progress as they can, outside of the classroom.

When remote learning is not taking place, these platforms have been and will continue to be used as ways of continuing learning outside of the classroom.

At St Peter's, we use:

Click here for access to Google Classroom

Google classroom provides a hub for class teachers to set, mark and assess learning activities remotely. Each child at St Peter's has their own Google account to which they can log in and access Classroom on.

If you do not know your child's log in, please contact your class teacher and they will be able to provide this.

Click here for access to Oak National Academy

Oak National Academy is a DFE recommend resource which provides online lessons based around the National Curriculum. Lessons are taught using videos and activities are provided around the learning. At St Peter's, we use Oak National Academy as a tool to help pupils understand the learning objective and further their learning.

Click here to access the Plymouth Cast login page for IXL

IXL is an online platform which provides a huge range of activities based around the curriculum for each year group. Teachers at St Peter's will use IXL to set follow up questions to a teaching point, set homework or to help recap prior learning. Each child at St Peter's has a log in for IXL. If you do not know your child's log in, please message your class teacher.

Our school uses Times Tables Rock Stars and Numbots to help boost pupils' maths knowledge in a fun and exciting way.

KS1 pupils are encouraged to play Numbots both in and out of school to help them build upon their learning during their maths lessons.

Times Tables Rock Stars is aimed at KS2 pupils and focuses on developing fluency and recognition of times tables in a competitive manner.

Pupils at St Peter's love both of these schemes and we encourage them to continue this at home.
