SJH Family Football Tournament #1
Today, Beechwood Primary played host to the first football tournament of the year. The rain held out and all teams gathered for an afternoon's worth of competitive games.
We were met by the hosts Beechwood whom were joined by Oakwood, Woodfield and Whitliegh Primaries.
The afternoon began playing Oakwood. It was a tense match, with our goal keeper saving a tremendous amount of offensive action by the opposing team. We pushed through scoring a goal but in the end, the persistence of Oakwood succeeded and we conceded. Eventually, Oakwood scored a 2nd goal bringing the final result to 2-1 to Oakwood.
Our second game put us against Whitleigh Primary. The game started swiftly with the impression Whitleigh could dominate, but our determination pulled us through and through sheer team effort demonstrated by all our players, we were able to score 2 goals. The end result was 2-0 to St. Peter's.
Our final game put us up against the hosts, Beechwood. Despite the tough competition, our strong defence and midfield facilitated the single goal from the game bringing the final result to 1-0 to St.Peter's.
Well done, Reds - and you looked the part in our New Football Kit!
