ART AND DESIGN
In our school we embrace the creativity and imagination of our pupils. Pupils explore a range of artistic styles and influences along with a variety of materials to create their own pieces. We also note the importance of designing as a process and we learn skills which help us analyse existing products and to build upon these with our own knowledge.
ART with local artist Andy Blackwell
Yesterday, we spent the day looking at light and shadow in art. Firstly, we looked at the use of light and shadow in art through the ages. Then, we used collage to create light and dark images on to boxes. We used acetate to trace an image we liked and put this on a overhead projector and projected it on to paper. Finally, we coloured our creations which were all brilliant!
Lower Keystage 2 - Autumn term 1 2020 - Henri Rousseau inspired rainforest art
Linked to our topic of 'rainforests', the children of Year 3 and 4 have produced some wonderful Henri Rousseau inspired art work of tigers. They practised their drawing and developed their skills on line placement and adding features to an image, along side developing their understanding of colours in relation to one another. Don't they look terrific?
EYFS - Autumn term 1 2020 - Firework art
The children of Foundation have been looking at all the wonderful words linked to fireworks and have then used this to produce these wonderful paintings. What beautiful colours!
