The sun was shining on what was going to be a brilliant day at the Brickfields with #TeamStPeters. We started our pool competition against the esteemed Hyde Park (Junior) team narrowly missing out on a win, conceding at the very last minute. Our second and third matches pitched us against High View and Victoria Road - both challenging teams but our determination to win after the first game (and defeat) bolstered our team spirits to aspire for victory. Two wins in the bag - result! Our fourth and fifth games put us against Yealmpstone and Oreston, and with two wins behind us, victory was within our grasps. Two more wins were achieved. By the end of the pool stage, we had achieved 2nd position behind Hyde Park - an excellent result for the varied experience the squad had. True testament to the handwork put in from Mr Chapman and the team's holistic approach.
After a jolly in the sun (including dancing!), the knockout stages began. We came up against Holy Cross - whom won then Plate Competition the previous year - and the talent was evident. In true knockout fashion, the game was best associated with pace, passing, tags and tries in abundance, but alas - it was not for us. After a glorious day in the sun, we were knocked out to another of the #CASTSchools primaries. Nevertheless, it was a corker of a day.
